Clarice Lane Obituary

Lane, Clarice Elvina NATIONAL CITY-- Clarice Elvina Lane was born December 27, 1928 in Eugene, Oregon. She passed away June 8, 2014 peacefully in her sleep at her home in National City, California with her family by her side. Clarice was raised in Siletz, OR, where she met and married her high school sweetheart, Alfred Lane Jr., her husband of 67 years. Alfred's Navy career brought the family to National City in 1960, where they raised their seven children. Clarice later earned a degree in Early Child- hood Development and became the director of a chain of early learning centers, retiring in 1987. Over the next 25 years they traveled extensively. Clarice is survived by her husband, Alfred Lane Jr.; her sister, Kathleen Overton of Lakeview, OR; her seven children: Christy Cadena of Alpine, CA, Alana Stein of Ramona, CA, Dona James of Lakeside, CA, Alfred "Bud" Lane III of Siletz, OR, Randy Lane of National City, CA, Paula Espino of Poway, CA, and Brett Lane of Siletz, OR; 18 grand- children, 18 great- grandchildren, sons- in-law, daughters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews. An evening Celebration of Life will be held at Admiral Baker Clubhouse, 2400 Admiral Baker Rd., San Diego, CA, 92120 beginning at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday July 12, 2014. Services were held June 16, 2014 in Siletz, OR with interment at Paul Washington Cemetery. "We will celebrate her every day for the rest of our lives."
