Halcon family: I am so sad to see that my Nino has passed away. I am his Goddaughter that lived across the street from him many years ago. My name is Kim but he called me Boo Boo Banny. I was lucky enough to see him a couple years ago at a local restaurant. I have a Lot of wonderful memories and will miss him

Ernie Halcon and I met in the 1970's, both of us (and others) trying to solve and effectively prosecute a murder case. Ernie was an inspiration to me then. I was a young, inexperienced deputy DA. Ernie was wise and dedicated to exposing the truth and effecting justice. He was a very good man, whom I miss dearly.

To the family of Mr. Halcon -
I met him in the service waiting area of Witt Lincoln back in 2005. We spent over two hours chatting. A very kind and interesting man with a remarkable background, and incredibly proud of his family. I never forgot him. I'm glad I got to meet him, and I'm sorry for your great loss.

Tio Ernie is going to be greatly missed. I have so many fond memories of him. He gave me my first job ironing his shirts at the age of 10. I made great cash to buy my own toys:O) I remember going to his house when I was a kid; he had turtles and always a beautiful yard with a water fountain. It was fun to play in the water. I loved how he had special pet names for me and my siblings. We felt so special when he would sing our names and welcome us with a big hug and kiss. I am so blessed that my children go to met their Great, great uncle. What a cool thing. I will miss his booming voice and wonderful singing. I loved how he adored my Grandmother Dolores/Sadie. He took care of her like a loving brother when my Grandfather passed, and I love him for that. I will miss how he always was blinged out with rings and necklaces. He was cool and had great stories to share. He was a super cop, funny, and a loving Tio in my eyes. My heart is sad for my Tia Socorro, Ernie, Marc, and Corky. God bless you all with loving memories during this sad time. As you can see, my memories are helping me during this time. It is also comforting to know for me that he is with his Mom and Dad, and all his brothers and loving sister. Tio I will miss you, but thanks for all that you gave us. Your time, love, and stories will be remembered. Give Nanie a hug for me please. I miss you both. Love, Chin Chi/ Chinese Girl

I first met Ernie in the 1960s, as an officer at the ECPD, and he and his partner Ruben Landa were CA BNE Agents that worked the Imperial Valley. Congenial, liable man. RIP

Socorro and Family, Ernie was simply one of the finest men I ever knew or worked with. I can picture him, Tata Landa and Max Richards sitting together and swapping tall tales.

Rest in Peace, Uncle Ernie (nino).
Now you and the 'birds' (my dad-Joe & Uncle Sal) and Uncle Nacho & tia Lola can sit down and play poker, drink a few beers, and lie your hearts out like you always did. Thanks for the good times when we were kids. j
