George is with the One that he confessed as his Lord and Savior,Jesus, just prior to leaving this earth. What a great comfort knowing where he is at.

Grandpa, It's True
(by: Darlene Rayome)
Strong and capable giving all that you could
Fun and lovable doing much that was good
Learner or teacher on any given day
You knew how to help and were happy that way
Grandpa, it's true you have done very well
To live a great lifewith tales to tell
The love you shared is chiseled in our hearts
We will never forget you though for now we're apart
Never liking goodbyes, it's not easy and so
"See you later" will work and with faith we can know
Over yonder beyond both this time and space
We will soon meet again in that heavenly place.

I only knew George his last few weeks of life but it was long enough to witness all his doubts turning into faith. His rest is in Jesus now.

I have so many wonderful memories of uncle George. From my first memories on the old ranch of uncle George and aunt Opal through all the years. You were always so good to me. I really appreciated our wonderful friendship in my twenties and thirties when I went through some tough times. Your understanding, sense of humor and encouragement were priceless. You were a great friend to me! Thank you uncle George! I love you and you will always be in my heart! Dear Corinne, my prayers and love to you and your family! Your dad was the kindest, most understanding and had the best sense of humor! What a wonderful man!!!!!!!!!

Many family members went on to be with the Lord before George Hydrick: his father, George Neverson Hydrick Senior, his mom, Lucille Hydrick, brothers Buddy and Plympton (Rick) and his first wife, Opal Hydrick.
George Hydrick leaves behind his second wife, Betty, his daughter, Corinne, grandchildren: Darlene, Karen, Christine, and Kevin. Also 7 great grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. We all miss him but we know he is in a far better place.

I am very saddened that my Grandpa has passed. I enjoyed visiting him every year I could taking my family on a road trip to El Cajon. He will be dearly missed by my husband and his great grandchildren as well. I love you Grandpa.

From this niece's point of view, he was one of the sweetest, and kindest of people. Even at 91 years, when I was taking care of my dad (with Alzheimer's) for a week while Jeri had surgery, Uncle George was bemoaning the fact that he would take care of his 'little' brother if his time was not taken up with caring for Betty. I bet dad was there to greet him when he crossed over!

I was fortunate to visit with Uncle George in the middle of January. His spirit was strong, his mind astute, and his sense of humor wonderful. All the service he provided in the military and throughout his life is admirable. It was such a pleasure to spend time with him recently. My thoughts and prayers are with Corinne and the rest of the family.

My dad, George Hydrick, died at 94 years of age. He had a good and full life which he definitely enjoyed. He went home to be with Jesus because the Lord was calling him to his real home. I am happy for him but he will be terribly missed.
He loved to play golf, bowling, gardening, being a small airplane pilot, and playing the organ. He loved life. I will always love you, Dad.
