Gauntt Family,
I was very saddened by the news of the untimely passing of Jimmy. I offer my deepest condolences; no parents should ever have to experience such a loss, but for some reason God decided it was time for one of his children to come home. You are in my prayers, that God grant you the strength in this time of need.

To Jimmy’s friends and family,
Words cannot express how sorry I am for your loss. Jimmy Gauntt was such an amazing person and he will continue to inspire all those who were blessed enough to know him. His kindness was blatant and genuine, constantly shining through that unforgettable smile of his. In his short 24 years, he left a more prominent mark on this world than most will in a lifetime. The world will miss you Jimmy.

Dear Casey, Hilary & Brittany,
It's been over 20 years since I was your babysitter on Glencrest and I remember the kids like it was yesterday. I still have pictures of Jimmy in my back yard when he was in diapers. I came across his name and am so, so saddened by this news. I have never forgotten your family. I always loved being around all of you. I am truly sad that I never got to see Jimmy again as an adult. He obviously touched many lives. My prayers are with you and I wish I could hug each of you right now. Love, Marcia (Vanek) Lewis

As a teacher at TPHS I worked with Jimmy on senior class council. His true gift was to make you feel like the most important person in the world. The service and fine words by the speakers today showed how many people care so deeply for him.

Dear Gauntt Family:
I just received the very sad news of Jimmy passing. Having lost my son Andrew at age 23, I know exactly what you are going through. To this day, I can't believe my dear sweet boy is gone.Hard to believe, but the pain does lessen - you never think that you are going to survive - but you do. I remember Jimmy having such a angelic and endearing face & personality - words can not express how I feel - tears flow as I write. Please know that I am here for you - do not hesitate to contact me. Unfortunately - we have experienced the same loss.

Dear Gauntt Family,
Amongst my friends and peers, Jimmy Gauntt shined above as the ideal example of integrity and human compassion. He taught me what a true man of character was. Though we always like to honor the dearly departed, no amount of words can match the way Jimmy honored us. I will forever cherish each moment I shared with him.

We had the pleasure of meeting your son on a couple of family occasions ... with Diana and Steve (my brother). What a joy Jimmy was, and how tragic is his loss. We're in shock. There are no words in the dictionary that can provide comfort at a time like this. The world has lost -- and heaven gained -- a great gift.
Please accept our heartfelt sympathy.

Jimmy was one of those kids that a teacher will always remember. I had him in Spanish class...5 or 6 years ago...seems like yesterday. I loved his positive outlook, his passion, his curiosity. I sit at my desk in Rwanda now, far from TPHS, but immediately taken back there by this unbelievably sad news. My heart aches for his family and friends. What an amazing person Jimmy was. The world was a better place while he was in it, and his impact will be felt for so many years to come. Jimmy is a shining star in so many people's memories. We were all so lucky to have known him.

Brittany & The Gauntt Family,
I can remember when Brittany and I were good friends in elementary school and junior high, growing up with many memories of Jimmy as a little boy, playing in the large tree in the front yard or singing and dancing in the living room. He was such an amazing young boy and grew up to be an amazing young man. The world wont be the same!!! My heart is saddened and I am so sorry for your loss. Please let me know no matter what, if there is anything myself or family can do. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

Dear Hillary and Casey,
There are no words to express my shock and grief upon learning of your son's passing.
Having lost my own beautiful daughter, Sara, many years ago I can only say that time is, indeed, a great healer. The memories will never fade. Jimmy will always be in your hearts and in your lives. Nothing can ever change that. Love and caring are eternal.
You are incredible parents who nurtured and raised an amazing young man.
I know that Sara is up there, even now, welcoming Jimmy to his new home.
All my love, thoughts and prayers are with you.

You were only a toddler when I worked with your dad, but I still remember a picture he had of you in his office. It was so obvious that you had so much of him in you -- you had the same stance, you tilted your head the same way. What a shame that your promising life was cut so tragically short. Rest in peace, Jimmy.

Words can't express the heaviness I have in my heart. This world lost the most incredible young man - a loyal friend, talented artist, and loving son and brother. Jimmy accomplished more in his 24 years than most of us will accomplish in a lifetime. I have known Jimmy since he was in kindergarten and enjoyed watching him grow up. I loved Jimmy like my second little brother and will forever miss his bright smile and kind eyes.
Jimmy, my family and I thank you for the love, joy, and laughter you brought into our lives. We love you and miss you! You will be forever in our hearts.
