I looked Jan up in the Pt. Loma Yearbook to see how young and handsome he was and as he remained throughout his life. His photo is right next to mine as a 1966 graduate. Interestingly, he named his son Glenn which is my maiden name. Anyone who cares about children's literature as Jan did would be described as fun loving,young at heart and interested in the education of the next generation. I missed out on not knowing him better and wish to express my sincere condolences to those who loved Jan and to those fellow Pointers remembering him fondly.

I was a neighbor of Jan's on Fern Glen, and enjoyed his creative spirit and wonderful sense of humor. He is greatly missed in our neighborhood.
