Sorry to hear of his passing. I was an undergrad as well as a grad student of John Conlisk. I remember doing lots of linear algebra in his classes on Macroeconomics. He was always patient with questions and I just remember him staring out behind those thick glasses.

I knew John and his family in the 80s. I would pick up his sister Cathy for a visit with her brother John and his family.... John... Liz... Erin and Michael made me feel like family. His kindness was so apparent and humbling. My heart goes out to the family. Having known them made me a better person. Love and prayers to you all

I was a Ph.D. student of Prof. Conlisk at the U of Wisconsin in Madison. He guided my doctoral thesis. I have a forthcoming monograph in economics to be published by the Singapore-based World Scientific Publishing Company, that I intend to dedicate to him in his memory, with gratitude. The book is Economic Adjustment and Growth: Theory and Practice.
