John Sebastian Obituary
John Sebastian of Tulare, CA, 72, passed away Tuesday March 13th at his home following a heart attack. John was born in San Diego and grew up in Point Loma. He attended school at Cabrillo Elementary, St. Agnes Elementary, Dana Junior High and Point Loma High. He was very proud of his Portuguese heritage and the Portuguese community where he grew up. He worked as a tuna fisherman, and at Campbell Industries. He loved all sports, and was a big fan of the Chargers and the Padres. His hope was that one day the Chargers would win the Super Bowl. John is survived by his wife Diana of Tulare, sons John and Michael of San Diego and daughter Melisa Sebastian of Tulare; and three grandchildren Robert L. Reed, Andrew Reed and Celeste Garza. He is also survived by six sisters, Helen Silva, Dorothy Silva, Genevieve Alioto, Doris Silveira, Marianne Silva and Joann Thompson, all of San Diego. A memorial mass will be said to celebrate John's life at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Thursday April 12th, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that donations be made to your favorite charity in his honor.
