CARROZZO, JOSEPH FRANK Born August 19, 1923, Joe passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 26, 2006. He was 83 years old. He is survived by his daughter Julie Brown, son-in-law Ron Brown, stepdaughter Jackie Czegeny and stepson Brian Flanagan. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Zachary Blakee, Katie Brown, Christy Foley, Zoltan Czegeny, and three great-grandchildren: Christopher, Aaron and Christian. Joe is survived by one brother, Al Carrozzo and sisters Rose Marie Halloway and Irene Christian, and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe has lived in San Diego for the past 47 years. He worked for Arthur Brown plumbing for 35 plus years until he retired. He was born to an Italian mother and father in Trinidad, Colorado, and ventured to California as a young 20 year old. He was a veteran, having served in World War II and the Korean War. He was married to Clarice Bean for 36 years. Approximately seven years after her death he married Sandy Flanagan and was married to her for eight years until she passed away this past June. He was the oldest of the surviving children and was looked upon as the Patriarch of our large Italian family. Joe was a man of high integrity, sensitivity and strong principals. He was loved, honored, and greatly respected by all family members, as well as friends and past co-workers. He will be sorely missed and forever remembered. Memorial services will he held at the Lomas Santa Fe Country Club on January 7, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. This is where Joe enjoyed golfing for many years and was Member Number six. Please sign the guest book at obituaries.uniontrib.com

We wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the family of Joseph Carrozzo. We met Joseph many years ago in Del Mar when he was a plumber and we were friends of his brother Al.

We will remember Uncle Joe for many things, especially his dedication to his family and friends. He had a way of making me and my daughters feel special and wanted.
