Jules Poirier Obituary

Poirier, Jules 10/28/1923 ~ 03/30/2015 SAN DIEGO -- Jules H. Poirier, 91, passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 30, 2015, Born on October 28, 1923, Portland, Oregon, to George and Lucienne Poirier, immigrants from Saint-Jean, Quebec. Jules lived out the majority of his life in San Diego, CA, where his parents moved in 1926. Jules graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1945 and worked as Senior Design Specialist Electronics Engineer until he retired in late 1989. He designed circuitry for the Saturn radar pulse altimeter, as well as other navigational circuitry. Jules was a dedicated follower of Christ and loving and devoted father to his daughter, Penny Mielke, and his three sons, Paul, Philip and Peter. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren. We are grateful that he is home with our Lord and that he will be reunited with his wife of nearly 58 years, Hazel M. Poirier, who died on May 1, 2006. There will be a memorial service at College Avenue Baptist Church located at 4747 College Avenue, San Diego, at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 11th. The service will be held in the Fireside Room, east of the main sanctuary.
