Joyce and Dave--I was stunned and saddened by the news of the loss of your dear son, Matt. He was always a joyous boy, then young man, and attacked all he did with zeal. It's so unfair that he was taken from the world at such a tender age. I send my deepest sympathy to you both for the loss you must feel at his passing.

A friend sent me Matt's obit today and I was stunned. My deepest condolences go to his mother and father, Joyce and Dave Abrams, whom I have known for 23 years in La Jolla.
But here I also learned about Matt's rich life since high school when I last knew him. He was an athlete; a graduate of UCSB; he found sports-related media work which he surely must have enjoyed; he was blessed to have found a spouse and to have a beloved dog. So I am truly happy for him, for what he became, for what he did, even though his passing is terrible and too soon. RIP.

Our heart goes out to all of you who loved Matt and especially Joyce,Dave, Laurie and Marisa. I love the Singer/Abram family and remember the cute curly hair child he was. He was much loved by his family and grandparents. We pray for comfort for the family now.
