Michael Stolz Obituary

STOLZ, MICHAEL ALLEN Jan. 5, 1960 to Nov. 23, 2008 Michael Allen Stolz, born on January 5, 1960, in La Mesa, CA, died on November 23, 2008. Michael believed, as Buddha taught, that the main purpose in life was to end suffering. That we continually strive, to achieve things that do not give everlasting happiness. We believe that Michael has finally found peace and his everlasting happiness. Michael graduated from Valhalla High School in 1978, and attended Grossmont College. He worked for over 25 years as a moving consultant for various local San Diego moving companies and during the past three years, devoted his life to caring for his elderly mother in their La Mesa family home. Michael loved to surf the San Diego shores, roller blade along Lake Murray, and was an avid photographer of nature. Michael also loved animals and was very concerned about the environment and his affect on the eco-system and the universe. He enjoyed gardening and cooking Asian food. Michael was a very generous and selfless person and was always willing to help his friends and family at a moment's notice. Michael left behind his loving mother, Edythe L. Stolz; two sisters, Anne-Marie Tweed (Randall Tweed) and Alisa Lauritzen (Robert Lauritzen), nieces Laura Cossé (Rhett Miller) and Elizabeth Powell, nephew Ryan Devan, two grand- nephews Ethan and Torin and his beloved cat Kimi. Michael will be interred at Singing Hills Memorial Park in a private family Service on Thursday, December 4, 2008. A celebration of Michael's life will be held at his sister Anne-Marie's home Sunday, December 7th, from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. at 3528 Via Palma, La Mesa, CA (619) 670-3004. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to: Adopt a Friend for Ever Animal Rescue. Make checks payable to: Margaret Desjardino and mail to Anne-Marie Tweed, 3528 Via Palma, La Mesa, CA 91941.

I'm saddened to hear of Michael's passing. Michael and I worked together at San Diego Van & Storage. Anytime we took a piano into storage at the warehouse, Michael would love to play it. Michael has found his peace and everlasting hapiness. My deepest sympathy goes to the Stolz family.

It is with deep sadness that I offer my condolences to the entire Stolz family. I just found out about MiKe this morning and I have had a flood of memories going through my mind ever since. We grew up together and in our twenties we went our separate ways. He was and always will be one of my dearest old friends even though we lost contact with each other. I remember him having such a good time singing for our band from time to time. God, Mike could strut his stuff as a lead singer. It makes me smile thinking of it. We also learned how to surf together and that is a memory that I will cherish. In the late 70's, we would get up early and go to the water and try like hell until we would go to work together at Marvin K. Brown. We succeeded in the learning process and managed to stay friends. Chuckle. I would go to Mike's house often and his family was always kind to me. We would sit in his room and talk about life and growing up and all the things young men talk about. Thank God for Mike's sense of style. He taught me about color coordination and how to have some semblance of how to dress. I needed it. Chuckle. In fact, I was one of the few people that were allowed to call him Mike. He hated that. I loved it. I will miss you Michael. I wish I could have been there for you when you needed a friend to talk to. I will always be sad that you are not in this world. The world needs kind souls like you. You will be missed.
Your Friend Always,
Ty Krehbiel
