El Cajon, my brother's and I would buy our Pendleton jacket's,Bob help me buy my first one! Robert Weston and I would run into Mr. Cordry for the next 50 year's, he always had a story to tell with that big beautiful smile! At time's Robert Weston and I would go and visit him in the late 90's, his garden of roses were unbelieveable in size and color! This is one teacher who touch many lives in the East County area who will be truly miss for being him self. God Bless

So sorry to hear this. Mr. Cordry was my high school counselor. He had come back to Monte Vista (where I work) on a volunteer basis.I missed him when he quit showing up, called to check on him.He had the same sense of humor in his later years as he did when I was in high school.

We lived in Mr. Cordry's neighborhood, I met him when he was out walking. We would see him almost everyday. He was my husbands teacher in 1962. If he wasn't out walking, we would see him working in his yard. We enjoyed his flowers and rock formations. My Dad and I would take my Mother out for walks in her wheelchair, we would often see Mr. Cordry in his yard with his caregiver. We would stop to visit. He will be missed! My Mom passed away Feb. 6, we know what "loss" feels like. May you feel God's comforting arms around you too!

I was an office assistant in the Monte Vista High School Counseling Department in my senior year in 1973-74 and remember Mr Cordry as one of the most popular counselors at the school. He always had time for everyone and he made each and everyone of us feel special. His office was always full of his student fan club. What a great guy. He will be missed. My prayers are with his family.

Boy I can still see that smile in my mind's eye. He used to always say,"They had to carry Carrie to the ferry, cuz Carrie couldn't carry anymore." As a teenager I thought it was annoying but as an adult I've told the story quite a few times remembering how much fun we had. LXX is REX Mr C. It was then and it always will be for the Monte Vista class of '70! RIP Bob.

Bob Cordry will be remembered by every student he touched at Grossmont and El Cajon Valley High Schools. In my case, when my family moved away from El Cajon, he took our dog, a beagle named Wag, in and cared for her until my family returned a year or so later. That dog eventually "raised" our son. Cordry always managed to get to get to our reunions. We are all saddened. Bill Baker, ECVHS Class of 1958

To the family of Bob Cordry...thank you so very much, for sharing him with all of the students who were fortunate enough to be in one of his classes. What a delightful gentleman indeed...with an incredible smile. I graduated from El Cajon Valley High School in 1964, and Mr. Cordry encouraged me to continue my creative writing, which I did, and became a published poet. What an inspiration he was to all of us. Mr. Cordry was a very special individual, who will be missed by all who knew him. Please know that I am keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

There is not enough space to tell all the stories we could tell about Bob.
Let me just say, however, how much I was saddened to read about "Bob's" passing today. I met him as a student at ECVHS, graduating in 1959. He was our ASB advisor and teacher. For some of us he was a lifetime friend long after graduation. He was always cheerful, full of "the gab," as you say, a natty dresser and he loved people. No one, I mean no one who ever met Bob will forget his laugh. He loved his family and often referred to them in our class discussions.
Sometimes we are lucky enough in life to know a person like Bob. He made an impression on us, and for those of us who loved Bob for the wonderful person he was, he left "footprints on our hearts."
For his family, may I say how sorry I am for your loss.

My name is Tad Geiger. My sincere condolences to the family. My prayers are with you.
I was one of Bob's first students at Grossmont. He was my favorite teacher and we remained friends in El Cajon for many years until I moved away. I also bought lots of clothes from him at Elms, where he worked part time.
I had never heard of anyone else named Tad until Tad Cordry was born & I got to hold him in my arms when he was a baby. I'd love to hear from him now - (619) 838-3497 .

Mr. Cordry was my high school counselor. I appreciate so many things about Mr. Cordry, but one memory that stands out is when he introduced me to "The Prophet". I still love the wisdom and poetry of this little volume, as does my daughter, whom I passed along a recommend to when she was a teenager, just as Mr. Cordry had done for me so many years ago.

I remember Mr. Cordry fondly at Monte Vista in the mid 70's as the counselor who always had a smile and seemed to be in a good mood. He made us laugh! My friends and I always enjoyed talking to him. We graduated in 1974 and my memory of him is etched in my brain. About 10 years ago when my kids were attending the preschool down at the El Cajon Methodist Church, I was walking around the block and I was very surprised to see Mr. Cordry doing the same thing. I can picture him with a walking stick. He had the same contagious smile and carefree attitude. Of course, we exchanged some words and I asked if he remembered me and I think he did. He always seemed genuine in his interest in the kids so I believed him. I will forever remember his kindness and smile!
