Stuart Case Obituary

CASE, STUART H.
Dr. Stuart H. Case of El Cajon, CA, went to be with Our Lord Jesus on November 8, 2007, at age 74. Stuart was surrounded by his family and loving friends in his final days as he passed away peacefully. He is survived by his wife Barbara, children Stephen, Stephanie and Richard. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandson. Stuart was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to Herman and Beulah Case. Stuart moved to Tucson, Arizona at age 12. He met the love of his life, Barbara, in 1950 at a Rodeo Dance at Arthur Murray's Studio. This was the introduction of a lifetime of enjoyment of ballroom dancing. Stuart and Barbara were wed in 1956 and enjoyed 51 years of marriage. Stuart completed medical school at Marquette University in 1958 and did his internship and one year surgery residency at what is now UCSD Hospital. He practiced general medicine from 1960 to 1966. From 1966 to 1968, Stuart served in the United States Air Force as a general medical officer and later a flight surgeon. Upon completing his service, Stuart decided to specialize in pediatric medicine, eventually becoming Board Certified and Chief of Pediatrics at Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa, CA. He was a managing partner of El Cajon Pediatrics from 1970 to 1999. Besides being dedicated to his family, and medical profession, Stuart was very active at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church. He also enjoyed golf, fishing, especially fly fishing, and traveling with Barbara. Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life Service on Monday, November 12, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Dunstan's Episcopal Church, 6556 Park Ridge Blvd., San Diego, CA 92120. Case Family,
I had the privilege of learning from Dr. Case a physician assistant student in his office in El Cajon. I only spent a month with him but his lessons and bedside manner have stayed with me. Your family will be in my prayers and yet I rejoice that he is with our savior.

Dad,

Thank you for being a wonderful father to your children, caring father-in-law, loving grandpa to your grandchildren, friend to many, and caring physician to thousands. Most of all, thank you for being a loving husband to my mother. Without that, none of the joy and beloved sadness your family shares would exist.

I know God has already told you "Well done faithful servant. Heaven's course is yours today, play away!"

We were saddened to hear of Stu's passing. He was a respected colleague and one of the "good guys". We will miss him; but his legacy remains.

Dear Barb & Family, Remember the times we double dated with you and Stu? The dances, the Polar Bar for fries and cokes and later as our children grew the outings and birthday parties. After we left San Diego we enjoyed fly fishing and chicken livers in Pinetop/Lakeside. All those good times live in our hearts. We love you both. Terry & Marilyn Pate, Tucson, AZ
