William Bradford Burton

William Bradford Burton March 21, 2000 - December 11, 2017 Alpine William Bradford Burton, son of Brad and Donna Burton of Alpine, tragically lost his life on December 11, 2017. William grew up attending Boulder Oaks Elementary School, Joan McQueen Middle School, and eventually Granite Hills High School, where he enjoyed tremendous athletic success. William excelled in football, basketball, and baseball, helping the Eagles to win three consecutive league championships in football as an All CIF DE/TE, and a CIF championship in baseball. William was looking forward to a promising baseball season and to continuing his athletic career after high school, and was being recruited as both a football player and baseball prospect. William was gregarious and fun-loving and his enthusiasm for life was contagious. Even in extremely competitive situations, William would soon have a group of players around him laughing and having fun. He was left-handed like his father, and was a free spirit and independent thinker in every way. He made those around him smile and laugh, but also had a sensitive side, as evidenced by his close relationship with his grandparents, and, especially, his mother. He loved the beach and boogie boarding, body surfing, and snorkeling with his friends and family. William is survived by his parents, his brothers Jacob and Zachary, with whom he loved to play catch in the back yard, and many other family members who will miss him dearly. A funeral mass will be held for William at Queen of Angels Catholic Church at 11:00 am on December 20; a celebration of his life be held at Shadow Mountain Community Church at 1:30 pm on December 21.
