Billie Bayne "Bobbie" Bubar

Billie "Bobbie" Bayne Bubar passed peacefully at home on the evening of Saturday, July 23, 2005, after complications with two strokes earlier in the month. She was surrounded by family and friends. Bobbie was 81 years old and would have celebrated her 82 d birthday the very next day. As per her request, her remains will be cremated and no funeral services will be held.

Born Winifred Dolores Jones on July 24,1923 in Yuma, Ariz., Bobbie attended catholic school in San Francisco. Her family later moved to San Miguel, Calif. She continued elementary school in Paso Robles and graduated from Paso Robles High School in 1941. Growing up a beautiful young lady, her advice to her grandchildren was always "don't go steady, just date". Bobbie met her future husband, Wayne Bubar, in 1935 at a dance in Atascadero. They married in 1946 and raised two children in San Luis Obispo and Morro Bay. Bobbie worked many years at the County Assessor's Office in San Luis Obispo. She retired in 1979. During her retirement years, she learned to snow ski, enjoyed playing tennis, long days at Avila Beach, movies or lunch with the girls, and always an evening glass of wine! She had a passion for animals and had several cats, dogs and birds over her lifetime. Bobbie had been raising Arabian horses for the past twenty years.

Bobbie is survived by her husband, Wayne H. Bubar of Atascadero; her sister, Gini Cropper of Santa Maria; her daughter, Debra D. Hubert of San Luis Obispo; her, son Gary P. Bubar and wife Smilie Bubar of Vacaville; her grandchildren, Sarah D. Hubert of San Francisco, Rachael A. Hubert of San Luis Obispo, Brian P. Bubar of Vacaville, Kimberlee D. Bubar of Santa Cruz; her great-grand daughter, Kaylee M. Bubar of Chico; as well seven nieces and nephews.

Bobbie was preceded in death by her father, Richard Jones and

her mother, Winifred V. Stockdate.
