My heart goes out to Kathy and family. I will always remember Doug for his quiet strength and love for his family. They can rest in comfort knowing that they will see him again in heaven.

Doug was truly kind, hard working, and loved Kathy and the girls so much. He had the greatest smile and sense of humor. We will miss him. He was a neighborhood icon. Seeing Doug and his grandson Garrett mowing the grass circle was so sweet. Stopping by for a moment to chat on his way to or from Morro Dunes was always a pleasure. Praying for comfort and peace for his family´s hearts. May they be blessed by all their wonderful memories of Doug.

When you hear the phrase family men, Doug is who comes to mind. The love he showed for his family is truly a example to behold. He will be missed but may his legacy of adventure and love continue to inspire us all.

Doug was so proud of his girls! You all brought him so much joy, his face lit up when he spoke about you and all of your accomplishments and endeavors. We were so lucky to have him join our family, I know he shook his head a lot at the Sherwood shenanigans, and then he'd join right in! Love you all so much...

Heaven is an even more special place now... God gave our family this most special man for about 40 years, but we prayed for many more. We miss him every day, our hearts are broken. His beloved grandsons are our joy and we know we will all meet again. Until then, we have memories of so many special times as a family.
So much to thank God for...
