Gloria Johnson Obituary

Gloria Johnson Our dear Gloria came into the world in May of 1956. Born to Miles and Joyce Johnson in Decorah, Iowa. She had one sister, Lynne. She grew up in San Luis Obispo, Calif., where she attended high school and graduated in 1974. She still has many friends from her class. She received a Master's in Counseling from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. She worked as an Educational Consultant with a foster care agency for 14 years. She helped implement a program at her church in Arizona to provide service dogs to veterans with PTSD and was working to help the hearing impaired as well. She loved her family and was the caregiver of her mother. She was a very loving and kind person, always trying to encourage others. She made her profession of faith as a Christian at the age of 12 and held on to her faith in the Lord always. She also loved her dog, JoJo. She will be missed deeply by her mother, Joyce Johnson; sister, Lynne (Pat) Rodriguez, and nieces, Amy (Jose) Arenas and Jenny (Ryan) Ingram, as well as great-nieces and nephews: Ella, Ryder, Miles, Nico and Callie. She was beloved by all and used mightily by our Lord. Sign her guestbook at sanluisobispo.com/obituaries

Miss you every single day, dearest friend, your laughter, your tears, your sweet love. But time cannot take away for long what eternity holds. Until then, only the most joyous of memories treasured in my heart. One day, in Christ, we will be once again, the best of friends. What a hope, what a promise.

So sad that she had to go so young. We know she is with the Lord, a much better place. I was glad to see her and spend some time with her when she came to SLO bin the summer.
