Jeff Smailes Jeff Smailes passed away Sunday June 7, 2015, after a brief illness. He was 51 years old. Jeff was a man who was full of life, a man who brought people together, a man who never met a stranger, a man who was outrageous and fun. Jeff enjoyed life to the fullest. He would never turn down a round of golf or a White Russian. His sense of humor was second to none. He was always the life of the party. Jeff was the youngest of seven children, the last boy after five sisters and a brother. Being raised in a large family seemed to have taught him how to become a patient, kind and sensitive person. Many people consider Jeff their best friend. Life will never be the same without Jeff, everyone who knew him will miss him terribly. We miss you already "Smiles!" A quote by Hunter S. Thompson sums up Jeff's approach to life perfectly: "Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Wow!
