Jesse Clapp Obituary

Jesse Clapp, 21, passed away in Grover Beach Jan. 2, 2008. Jesse Edward Clapp was born in Feb. of 1986 in Coupeville, Wash., and raised in San Luis Obispo County, spending his formative years in Atascadero and then Pismo Beach. He attended San Gabriel Elementary and Atascadero Junior High and Arroyo Grande and Lopez High Schools in Arroyo Grande. He graduated from Kauai High School in Kauai, Hawaii in 2004. He was employed as a dental lab technician at Zambrano Dental Labs.

Always full of energy and fun, Jesse was a natural athlete who loved the outdoors and excelled in whatever sport interested him, whether it was surfing, golf, camping and hiking, or his favorites, baseball and running. A hugely passionate fan as well, Jesse closely followed the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and the Boston Red Sox.

Nicknamed Yoshi by his Japanese grandmother, Jesse was also an ardent buff of World War II history, reading books and watching TV shows about it. Cooking was also one of his loves and he was quite the budding chef. Whatever it was he chose to do, he worked hard at it and went at things with passion and heart. Most importantly, he was a loyal friend and loving son, brother, and uncle. Jesse will be missed by all, but most of all, by his identical twin brother with whom he shared an unbreakable bond.

Jesse is survived by his twin brother Cameron, his parents, Berny (Mother) and Bill (Stepfather) Crane and Donnie (Father) and Vickie (Stepmother) Clapp; his siblings Dillon Clapp, Rosanna Clapp, Camille Clapp-Page; stepsiblings Cadin Crane, Chase Crane, Kenny Muskat, Donny Muskat, Ashley Muskat; half-brother Gabriel Williams; niece Pepper Page; and nephews Ozzy Page and Chili Williams.

A memorial service will be held 4 PM Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2008 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2600 Ramona Road in Atascadero. For more information, please call Vickie Clapp at (805) 813-3818. Flowers are welcomed and also, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to either or both of the following: the Wounded Warrior Project at: www.wounded warriorproject.org or the Challenged Athletes Foundation at: www.challengedathletes.org .

I have known Jesse and his family since early 1990. I am grieved to hear of Jesse's passing from this mortal existence. My prayers are with Donnie, Bernie and their families. Cameron, please know that your brother may be gone from your view, but he is just beyond the veil, where he awaits the return of all of you, to be reunited, together forever, as a family. May your sorrow be lightened and your grief turned over to "HIM" who loves you most.
In humble love and prayers....Sirena (Shahan) Ellsworth

Jesse - the memorial service was a fitting tribute - but you know that since you were there. You are so well-loved; the way you filled the room today was amazing.... Cameron's words struck a cord; when he said you will continue living on through him - each person who heard that knows it's true. You will be missed by everyone whose lives you touched. May we all learn the lessons you had to teach, Jesse Clapp. God speed, right winds, love, and all blessings.

I was so sad when I read Jesse's obituary. He and Cameron were students of mine. Both young men were great kids that I enjoyed a lot. Jesse will be missed by me and all of us at San Gabriel School.

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters.
He restoreth my soul:
He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name' sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil: For thou art with me;
Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever. The 23rd Psalm.

Jesse, you were always full of energy, happiness, and love. You blessed everyone who you ever met. Rest In Peace, for you are one of God's new Angels now. Cammy, and family, I am so sorry. My prayers are with you all.

"when I must leave you for a little while, please do not grieve and shed wild tears and hug your sorrow to you through the years. But start out bravely with a gallant smile; and for my sake and in my name live on and do all things the same; feed not your loneliness on dmpty days, but fill each waking hour in useful ways, reach out your hand in comfort and in cheer and I in turn will comforty you and hold you near; and never never be afraid to die, for I am waiting for you on the other side."
