Barbara and Family
Although much time has passed, our memories of time spent with Wines family is still vivid and treasured. Our love and prayers go out to all of you as you grieve, yet celebrate, the life of John, a very special man.

Dear Barbara, Kathy, Dave, Eric, Shannon and Kids-- What a profound life lost here but gained in Our Lord's presence. Painful separation, yet temporal. I will be praying for each and every one of you.
John was always a little mysterious to me as a kid growing up on our fabulous multi-state camping adventures. John seemed to enjoy the role as the master story teller around the camp fire at night--sometimes scarying us for weeks on end. John was ingenious--coming up with a clever way to carve out roads for our Tonka cars with a can flattened and nailed to the end of a long stick. Packed with talent, John could create art made of wood, metal or charcoal. John was always a little stubborn too--not too much adventure--not too wild with the menu!
The one thing I will remember about John Wines was the deep level of friendship he extended to every member of my family. John will be missed profoundly.

Dear Barbara, Kathy and family and Eric and family,
We are so blessed to have had John as a friend. He was like a brother to Pat and they had a bond that surpassed friendship.
We cherish all our great times together as friends and as families. Those memories will be with us always.

I took 3 years of welding and machine shop classes from Mr. Wines. He taught me those things easily. The thing he taught me me, that no one else in all my educatonal experience, ever did, was to make my own plans and execute them to completion, not just in the shop but in life.
He was more than a teacher, a mentor. I love that he was tough and yet so kind.
I never called him John even when I saw him last. I was 40 something and he was still Mr. Wines to me.
Mr. Wines, I will never forget you. To your family I am so sorry for your loss. I hope you know how special he was to so many. The world is a lesser place without you.

He was a wonderful teacher and mentor to a lot of students, including myself. He will be sorely missed. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and family.

I feel blessed to have known Mr. Wines as both a student and a parishioner. Truly, he was a man of character and integrity. His genuine interest and concern for others was a testament of his devotion to God.
