Joshua Ryan Sanders

Joshua Ryan Sanders, 36, of Los Osos, passed away after a gallant fight with cancer on Sunday, Dec. 2, 2012, surrounded by family and friends and the loving medical staff at Cedar Sinai Medical Center in Beverly Hills.  Josh was born in September 1976 in San Luis Obispo and attended local schools. He had many longtime friends throughout the county.  Josh lived life to the fullest regardless of his medical battles, which began at 17 with a kidney disease diagnosis as part of a football physical while attending San Luis Obispo High School.  Josh married his soul mate, Johanna "Hanna" Lindemans - together they stepped forward to take custody and raise two wonderful children Marina Lindemans (18) and Justin West (10). Josh was a terrific dad and loved his children unconditionally and wholly. Josh loved life, played the drums, surfed, was handy with tools and loved operating heavy equipment, which he was able to do up until very recently in his job at Al''s Septic in Los Osos. His greatest gift to all those who had the pleasure of crossing paths was his gift of laughter. Josh was an impressionist, cut-up and jokester.  Josh is survived by his loving wife, Johanna; their children; parents, Candice Bowie (Ed) and Darrel Sanders (Kathy); brother, Darren (Coral); nieces, Autumn and Sydney; brother-like-cousin, Mike Russel and his children Samantha and Joseph.  He is also survived by aunts Paula Montgomery, Sandie Steel, Catherine Kingsbury and her children Davey and Zoe, and Becky Bouch (Bill); and in-laws, John and Paula Lindemans. He is further survived by his brother-like brother-in-law, Jeff Lindemans (Kathy) and will miss the campouts with nieces Megan and Brittany and nephew, Travis Tutt; sister in-law, Julie Tacker; niece Marly, nephews, Clayton, Teddy and Paul Tacker and Jack Edwards and will be missed by all those he referred to as the "Windmill Mafia Family." A celebration of Josh''s life will be held at the Windmill in Los Osos - date to be determined.
