December 1, 1938 - March 5, 2021
San Luis Obispo, California - Lois Jean Rust (Segrue) passed peacefully in San Luis Obispo, CA on March 5, 2021 at the age of 82.
To those that knew her, she was a beautiful, thoughtful, and friendly woman. She was a beloved wife, mother, sister, grammy and friend to many.
Lois was a devoted wife to Jack for 62 years. Together they raised 3 children, Rick, June, and Mitch. She cherished her sisters Sharon and Sue. Lois adored her 3 grandchildren Rick Jr, Ryan, and Lucas. As well as her 2 great grandchildren, James, and Layna.
She is preceded in death by her Father Joseph Segrue, Mother June Stevens, and sister Joyce Stoddard.
Lois was born on December 1, 1938 in Dinuba, CA to Joseph and June Segrue. At a young age the family moved to Shell Beach, CA where she grew up and attended local schools' then graduating from Arroyo Grande High School in 1956. Lois married Jack Rust her high school sweetheart in 1958. After moving to Arroyo Grande Lois was a dedicated housewife and mother for many years eventually, she began working in local Real Estate finally transitioning to working for Mid-state bank for 20+ years retiring in 2005.
The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Lois. She loved cooking for family and friends then settling in for a quiet evening and sharing laughs. Lois enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. She really loved a regular routine of meeting up with friends for coffee to 'catch-up', especially with her pal Carol-Anne Doty (Doll).
Lois was resilient, understanding that life is full of challenges and she embraced obstacles always remaining open, flexible, and willing to adapt to change. She had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met.
A funeral is scheduled for Wed., Mar. 17 at 10:00 at Arroyo Grande Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the Arroyo Grande Hall Assn. 707 Huasna Rd, Arroyo Grande, CA 93420. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Lois's life. In leu of flowers or gifts please consider giving to your favorite charity.

Oh, I am so sorry to hear of Lois' passing! She was such a beautiful person, inside and out! I first met her when she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi many years ago. And I kept up with her, sometimes vicariously, through her bestie, Carol Anne. What a reunion that must have been for them both! Thanks for the memories, Lois! God speed. Give Carol Anne a hug from me!
