Loretta Jean Filipponi Adamski

Loretta Filipponi Adamski Loretta Jean Adamski was born in Morro Bay on November 20, 1927, to Caesar and Irene Filipponi. She passed away on January 11, 2017. She lived a full and vibrant life until the very end. Loretta was raised on her family's dairy farm near Harmony before moving to San Luis Obispo in her teens. There, towards the end of World War II, she met the love of her life, Joseph "Ski" Adamski, who was serving in the area with the Navy. After a short courtship, they married in 1945 and began a wonderful journey for the next seventy-two years becoming partners in life and business, raising a family, starting Ski's Shell in downtown San Luis Obispo and forming numerous enduring ties to the local community. Loretta was always loving, gracious, generous, stylish and whip-smart. She and her husband Ski gathered family and friends and held them in a fiercely loving embrace. Those she touched saw her as a friend and confidante, someone with the wisdom of age, the beauty of a tender heart and the joy of living with optimism and gratitude. Loretta is survived by her husband Ski; her sister Betty Siefert; her five children: James (Linda), Douglas (Mo), Steven (Meg), Lori (Tom) and Michael (Annette); and her grandchildren: Megan (Patrick), Morgan (Christian), Nathan, Kevin, Devin (David), Kylie, Lukas, Sophia, Kate and Jenna. The family will host a celebration of Loretta's life at 3:00pm, Sunday, February 19, 2017, at the Madonna Inn. In honor of Loretta's life her family asks that you please consider "paying it forward" by dedicating an act of kindness, an act of charity, a phone call to a loved one or a hug to someone in pain in her memory.
