Aunt Nell, with her happy smile, lilting voice and welcoming attitude made it fun to be a Netzley cousin! She always joined in on family events, hosting reunions at their home in Southern California as well as Pismo Beach. I remember visiting as a kid and swimming in their pool, having a big Mexican style fiesta party with the whole family when we were big kids, and as a grown up with kids of my own, another huge family lunch at their Pismo Beach home. There was always wonderful food and Wally entertaining us with hilarious stories. Nell is an example of a life well-lived. She was loved and will be missed.

Nell was my best friend for over 30 years. We meet at Newcomers, my husband Joe i had just moved to the Central Coast from Southern California, at the first Newcomers Luncheon in 1994, we sat next to each other, it was Instant friendship, I knew that she was a believer in our Lord Jesus Christ right from the beginning she invited me to her´s & Wally church, the rest was history, so many shopping trips, lunches, laughs, dinners with our husbands, they both loved the Sand, Ocean and Sun. Wally on his bike, Joe on his surf board.
Nell &I shared family and friends events, Birthdays, Her family were so loving and welcoming.
We shared sad times also, she comforted me When Joewent to be with Jesus and I comforted her when while he went to be with Jesus. We shared watching the Dodgers games together on TV, some times we would be on our Mobile phone during some of the games, she was a A whiz and so smart, had a great memory for all the statistics of the Dodgers there were some nights where she even kept score with a real score pad in her lap. She would have one of her many Dodger shirts on. I loved her laugh, her beautiful hair and her gorgeous blue eyes. I will miss you, my friend Till we meet in heaven. Thank you Jesus for giving me such a wonderful friend.

Wally and Nell were 2 amazing people. Probably the first two people I remember when attending OPCC when we moved to California in 1988. They would sit right in front of us and always got to hear the Amen up close. We always talked about Dodgers and baseball. When I got into jr. high Nell would invite me over so I could "help" weed her garden in the backyard. Pretty sure she didn't need the help but I always appreciated that time in my life it was basically every other Saturday morning. It got me out of bed and up and active on a Saturday. Got me $20 in my pocket and lunch usually at Burger King. They were always supportive of me with whatever I was wanting to do and would always talk for as long as I wanted about sports or whatever. Will really miss her smile and absolute joy.

I met Nell over 35 years ago while working for San Bernardino City Unified School District´s Administrative Office. We became the best of friends quickly and spent a great deal of time having lunch together, sharing our lives with each other. Over several years we grew very close and it was very sad when she and Wally moved to Pismo Beach. We kept in touch throughout the years and saw each other many times. The last time we spent several days together prior to her moving to the assisted living facility. I will always remember her warm and loving nature and how much she loved her dear husband Wally, her sweet daughter Patty, Danny and his two sons. I am so grateful that God´s plan was for us to share our lives with one another and the memories I hold dear.
