Patricia Pascal Obituary

Patricia Pascal Patricia Ruth (Shively) Pascal passed away April 9, 2020 from complications related to malignant melanoma. Pat was born in Oakland, California on January 16, 1948 to Clair Shively and Marie Sorbet Shively. Pat was raised in Southern California and graduated from Pomona High School in 1966. She attended Cal State LA and graduated from Pepperdine University with a business degree. Pat married Michael Pascal in 1972 and lived in the Westchester and Manhattan Beach area for 40 years. She spent her career at Southern California Gas Co working in a number of different areas and meeting numerous lifelong friends. Following her divorce, Pat adopted her beloved daughter Tiffany Pascal who now lives and works in San Francisco. After her retirement, Pat moved from Manhattan Beach to Morro Bay, Mt Shasta and finally to San Diego to be back by the ocean. She was very active as a golfer, traveler, quilter, jewelry maker, volunteer, gardener, cook, mahjong player. In her retirement she volunteered for a number of civic and nature groups as a docent for a state park in Morro Bay and the Sisson Museum in Mt Shasta. Pat was preceded in death by her parents and older sister, Beverly Shively. She is survived by her brother Stephen (Ramona) Shively and sister Lynda (Bob) Hilliard. She leaves behind her wonderful daughter Tiffany and nieces and nephews: Jeffrey (Sara) Hilliard, Matthew Hilliard, Nicholas Shively, Nate Shively, Laura (CJ) Nelson, and Cristine (Adam) Glendening. She also leaves her beloved grandnephews Cristiano Hilliard and Hunter and Ryder Glendening. Due to the quarantine, a celebration of her life is being planned for late summer. I played golf with Pat many times at Morro Bay; she was always a delight. After she moved to Shasta, Pat continued to play with our clubs when she visited the Central Coast and even kept her membership active until this year. She had several time share weeks that she would use together and live for a month or so at the Avila Bay Inn each year. Several years ago when my mother-in-law was living at the senior center Las Brisas, Pat toured the residence high on a hill in SLO. She dreamed of moving there, having a room facing the view of Bishop Peak, enjoying three meals a day served to her, and having the flexibility of driving her car to related centers in other towns where she could stay and dine for free and play golf in new places! I was shocked to hear the news of Pat's passing. She will be greatly missed.
