It is impossible to put into words the loss that this community is feeling for the passing of Daniel Stuart McGuire. We are consoled to know that he has joined his big brother Andrew and his grandparents in heaven. Daniel passed in a tragic car accident on Hwy 17 on July 10, 2014. His friends and family share this truly shattering, unfair and tragic loss with everyone who knew him. Daniel was born and raised in Santa Cruz.
Daniel's work ethic was matched only by his late brother Andrew, who inspired Daniel's entrepreneurial spirit. Daniel was quickly gaining success in his career at Triple Crown Consulting as a Recruiting Manager and Team Lead. He applied his exceptional brilliance to his studies at San Jose State University, where he effortlessly graduated with honors with a Business degree in marketing. Daniel was destined for greatness.
Daniel and his family lost his brother Andrew over five years ago. Daniel was consistently a caring and dependable support for his loved ones. He exhibited incredible strength and embodied Andrew's spirit for his family and community.
Daniel will be remembered for his passion for sports especially the 49ers. When he would come over for a family function during a Niner's game, we knew better than to try to engage him in conversation.
His warm embrace made those who were fortunate enough to know him feel valued, accepted, and happy. Daniel's genuine spirit will be forever present in our lives.
He will be missed by family and all who shared his laughter. Daniel was a friend to everyone he met. Daniel is survived by his loving parents Doug and Gail-Jean McGuire, his sister Rejeana McGuire, and the love of his life, Jessica "Jaja" Oliveira, and extended family members.
It is appropriate that we pay our respects to Daniel at a place that represents him best, which is why we ask you to join us for his memorial at the Kaiser Permanente Arena, home of the Santa Cruz Warriors on Saturday, July 19, 2014 at 12:00 pm. The family invites you to wear your 49ers gear or red and gold. In lieu of flowers, please show your support by making a donation to the Santa Cruz Boys and Girls Club in honor of Daniel.

Gail Jean & family, my deepest sympathy to all who are affected by another tragic loss within your loving family. It's such a shock and wounding of the heart yet again. As no farewell words were spoken & no time to say good bye for Daniel & Andrew were gone before you knew it & only GOD knows why. Like many others, I did not know Daniel. I passed by the accident, coming south about 11 a.m. To see the wrecked cars, the truck, and all of the first responders made me very sad. Life is so precious and I am so very sorry for your loss. My condolences to you.

I cant remember being this sad in a long, long time..i cant even begin to imagine how much pain GJ, Doug, and Reggie are going thru. One of the best families ive ever known. I am Sean Lunch's dad, jerry. When Daniel would come to our home, it brightened my day. I loved his presence and lively conversations about basketball. But more than that, I was so happy for Sean because he had such a special friend in Daniel... I remember him as a caring, loving, genuine, articulate, kind human being. I am in Boulder, Colorado right now with Sean and we spent last night talking about how much of a loss this is for so many others.
