Born in Santa Cruz, CA to Edward Senft and Doris (Hunt).
Ed passed away at his home with his wife Diane and daughter Keri by his side.
He graduated Santa Cruz High School and the Police Academy in addition to serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
Ed worked at the Santa Cruz Sentinel for 50 years, starting as a paper boy, going on to become the Pressroom Foreman.
He was also a Santa Cruz Police Officer and the Boardwalk was his beat.
After moving to Calaveras County, he worked security at the Jackson Rancheria.
He enjoyed socializing with friends and having a good time, including dressing in his gorilla suit and riding his motorcycle.
Although preceded in death by his sister Jane and nephew Steve, he leaves behind his wife of 31 years Diane, sister Ruth, children Sheri Didrekson (Darrell), Keri Mars (Steve), Susan Reeve (Kevin), Paul Rusin, Robert J. Rusin, Christopher Rusin (Telia) and Jason Nelson; also, 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren as well as many nephews and nieces and his beloved dogs Zaya & Willie.
A big "Thank You" to the angels at Hospice of Amador County.
A celebration of Edward's life with be held Memorial Day Weekend.

We're sad at Eddy's passing. My dad, Dick Williams, and he where best friends through childhood to young adulthood and beyond. They served in the Korean War, joining on the same day I believe. We'll try to get my dad up there for the memorial. Deepest condolences and best wishes to the family.

Saddened by the passing of Ed. I was a police officer at SCPD and had the pleasure of working and knowing him for a number of years. He was a good man.My condolences to his family...........

My Husband and I had the pleasure of working with Ed at The Sentinel, he always had a smile on his face and a great sense of humor. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his Family.

I was very sorry to read about Ed's passing. I had the priveledge to work beside him at the Boardwalk. Ed was a true professinal and a kind man. We also had many a dinner at the old Merry Go Round restaurant.
My prayers and thoughts are with you. RIP Ed.
