Mrs. Eiko Sakaguchi died peacefully at home in Watsonville, California on June 21, 2022. She was 101 years old.
Eiko was born on April 23, 1921, to her parents Wataru and Kame Yamakawa in Ukiah, California.
Eiko was a member of the Japanese American Citizens League, the Watsonville Buddhist Temple, and Fujinkai.
Eiko is survived by her children, Leigh K. Sakaguchi (Noemi) and Amy Dobashi (Wesley deceased), her sister Hanaye Baba (Isao deceased), her grandchildren, Pamela Dobashi and Marcia Dobashi, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Shioki Sakaguchi, and her siblings, Hiroyuki Yamakawa, Ato Yamakawa, Mary Satake and Jimmy Yamakawa.
A memorial service was held on July 22, 2022.
Donations can be made to Bridge Hospice.
