Ellen M. Madsen, born in Fresno, CA to Danish immigrants. Married in 1950 to Mogens P. Madsen, 37 yrs. (deceased 1987), also an immigrant to America. 1960 they moved to Santa Cruz Co. Ellen practiced over 50 years as a well known accomplished beautician, first in Fresno, later finishing in Santa Cruz. She retired from the ownership of Charm Salon of Santa Cruz in June 2010, moved to Southern CA to live with her daughter and son-in-law in Moreno Valley, CA. She left the world behind to be with her Lord Jesus on Sun. Jan. 25th, 2015, due to end stages of cardiovascular disease. Her survivors are: Mona M. Mordoff and Rick A. Mordoff III, two grandsons and their wives, and family. No services will be held. She will be missed.

I'm so sorry to hear about Ellen. I remember all of our family visits to Capitola and Santa Cruz visiting with Ellen & Mogens. Wonderful memories! Truly a special generation. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Lisa Gunlund-Jura

Ellen was a kind lady & I am sorry she has passed. I used to wait on her at the bank where i worked. She would make her business deposits & we would talk. She was helpful to me with my hair color questions. One day I was walking along Water Street & noticed Ellen assisting one of her elderly clients in her shop. I was very touched by Ellen's courtesy & gentleness. I've thought of Ellen sometimes especially when I assisted elderly banking clients. I am retired now but just recently had thought of her & her nice smile. I will still think of you Ellen & will be grateful that I knew you. Jenny Brown
