"My best memory of George was somewhere around in 1997, when he was representing his site at the field placement fair I was organizing for JFK University. I was at the time working with a very unique crowd -- teenage girls who had a long history of violence and gang ties at an alternative high school and every single person in the field I approached for advice just had NOTHING to say for how to handle it in group when two (or more) of the girls started to escalate into a fight. I had consulted many, many therapists/teachers -- everyone was at a loss. To my tremendous relief, George instantly had answers...he had a fantastic and detailed set of ways for me to address it -- at it all worked. He was rare and amazing and it is a huge loss to have him no longer here. I am deeply grateful for his courage, charisma, skill, guidance, advice and teaching. He was -- no, he IS very inspirational."

Emily, my thoughts and prayers to you and family. George was a wonderful and kind man and we all will miss him. I will see you at the memorial today.

Fr. George Doub led the altar boys at Most Holy Trinity Church in the 1960's. He was a Christian and Catholic at heart. That heart was his biggest attribute. He shared it with us all. I got to talk to Fr. over the years a couple of times. I think I saw him once, meeting his lovely wife, since then.

He left the priesthood and built a great family. Still, I will always remember him as Fr. Doub.

To Emily and Family,
George stands out as one of the giants in my life: a visionary, a passionate organizer of people to dream impossible dreams in the service of others, an insightful leader, an outrageous friends and colleague. He left a tremendous mark in the world that will continue on for generations. I value deeply these past 40 years.

No words can truly bring comfort at this moment, but know that you and your family are being carried in the hands of love by many friends from around the world.

As I think of George Doub, I think of his energy, his beautiful smile and wisdom. While preparing his tax forms, years ago, George for payment would fry a tasty fresh Trout dinner with his family and young daughter in their small house in the hills of San Jose. I will always remember these home visits, hours of work, fine food homemade wine, and sharing stories. As you pass on to the lord, remember us on earth while you enjoy another fresh trout dinner in heaven.

To Emily and Family,
What a wonderful man. He taught us so much at Independence High School for so many years. He made the Student Support Center an awesome place for kids and their families. He was such a great teacher to so many Interns from all around the valley. I can't believe what we have lost. I feel so fortunate to have know him and work with him for so many years. There is no one like him. He was loved by all of us.

The last time I saw George was at his birthday party, or at least I thought it was, but now I am confused because his birthday is listed as December 28, 1940 and I think the party was in the fall in San Jose --- at the end of the party as I was leaving he expressed concern for me and how he thought I was enduring more trials than had Job in the Old Testament. That was George---always giving and concerned about others. He will be missed by us all. Carlos Cazador.

So very sad to hear of george's passing. He was a big part of our lives when we were teen agers at Most Holy Trinity parish. Even though we are much older now, of course, the memories remain fresh. I very much admired George. Over the years, I would occasionally hear of him and his work, which only deepened my appreciation of his influence. Many prayers of condolence to you, his family.
