Gloria Kaswen, born March 29, 1954, was received into her heavenly home on Friday, April 20, 2012 after a heroic 35-year battle with multiple sclerosis. Gloria was a beloved wife, mother, sister, daughter and friend, and will be sorely missed. The courage and grace which Gloria displayed throughout her life was and continues to be an inspiration.
Gloria enriched the lives of many people on a personal and professional basis. For many years Gloria worked with developmentally disabled adults in communities across California. She helped numerous individuals achieve more rewarding and fulfilling lives through her efforts. Gloria received a Bachelor of Arts in Music from Azusa Pacific University, and shared her love of music with all those around her. She was an accomplished vocalist and her talents enriched many churches and choirs. Gloria served as an Elder at the United Presbyterian Church of Watsonville, and was an important part of this community of believers.
Gloria is survived by her husband, Bob Kaswen of Watsonville, her two sons Jason Rinella of Cupertino, CA and Aaron Kaswen of Watsonville. She is also survived by her parents Charles and Kathryn Boss of Carlsbad, California, her brothers Edward Boss of Vista, California and Stephen Boss of Claremont, California, and her two sisters, Mary Glenn of Grapevine, Texas and Margaret Base of Grapevine, Texas.
A memorial service will be held to honor Gloria's life on June 9, 2012 at 2pm at the United Presbyterian Church, 112 E. Beach Street in Watsonville. The family requests that individuals make donations in Gloria's name to this church in lieu of providing flowers.
