Harry entered into peaceful rest at home with his family by his side, after a couragous battle with cancer. He was 76 years old. He was born in San Jose Ca. to Harry J. & Marjorie R. Lewis. He lived his younger life in the Bay Area where he was employed for 40 yrs at Specialty Solid Waste, which was then a family owned & operated business. He retired in 1993. In 1986 he married his wife Kelly. They relocated to Modesto from the Santa Cruz Mtns. in 1990 where they started their family. Harry had an unforgettable smile & a sense of humor that was prevalent when telling one of his many stories. He would make conversation with anyone, if they were not a friend when the conversation started, they were when it was finished. He had a heart of gold and would always put others first. His favorite hobbies were fishing, he loved to yell "fish on" and he loved bowling at the Yosemite Lanes in Modesto. His most precious moments were those spent with his family, especiallythe days at Lake Berryessa. Harry always believed his biggest acomplishment were his children. There will forever be a void where he once was. He will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to call him a friend, whether a lifetime of friendship or just a few moments.
Harry was preceded in death by his beloved parents Harry & Marjorie Lewis & sister Marjorie. He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Kelly Lewis, his children Teri Lynn Lewis & her husband Patrick Canavan of Bella Vista, Keith Lewis of Boulder Creek, Cortney Lewis & Michael Scarborough of Modesto, and his only grandaughter Zoey Jean. Brothers Gary Lewis of, John "Buzz" Lewis, and sister Vickie Burke and her husband Mike.
A Celebration of Life for Harry will be held on Feb. 1st. at the Appetez Pub & Grill located at 825 West Roseburg Ave. Modesto, CA at 12:30 p.m.
