Julie Cacace Obituary

Julie Ricketts Cacace
June 22, 1949-Oct 17, 2013
Resident of Santa Cruz
Julie passed away peacefully at her home on October 17, 2013 with her family beside her.
Julie met the love of her life, Don Cacace, while in high school. They married in 1976 and thereafter began the journey of building their home and raising their children, Taura and Tony. Julie's greatest passions were her children, her grandchildren and her husband Don.
Julie loved reading, writing, nature, poetry, art and traveling. Above all else, being a loving mother and grandmother was most important to her. She leaves her adored children, Tony Cacace and Taura (Robert) Kimball; grandsons Aleczander and Sebastian Kimball; her loving sisters and best friends Loretta R. Smith and Sharon R. Struthers; and father Maurice "Rick" Ricketts. She also leaves her nieces, nephews, grandnephews, grandnieces, cousins and many loving and compassionate friends.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband Don Cacace in 2007, and by her devoted mother Olivia Ricketts, in 2008.
A memorial mass will be held at Holy Cross Church on Saturday, October 26, 2013 at 9:30 am.
Julie asked that donations be made to the Lucille Packard Children's Hospital, 725 Welch Road, Palo Alto, CA 94304; or Hospice of Santa Cruz County, 940 Disc Dr. Scotts Valley, CA 95066. Please visit www.pacificgardenschapel.com to light a candle or express your condolences to Julie's family.

I am bit shocked that I got to know about this much later in May 2014.

I was renting Home from Julie for five years and I have seen Julie always smiling. She was a nice lady who loved her relatives. I am sure she would remain alive in memories of her children.

Julie,
I can't believe this is happening. And all I do is just keep quiet and that's all. Thank you spending your life with us and if you see anybody where you're at now, if your soul has gone to heaven, say tell Olivia I'm still her husband and miss you being near. I'll always be here as long as I'm living. I'm 91. I'll remember you until I'm in heaven with you, Don, and Olivia. Love, Dad

Love, Sharon

You alone will have the stars as no one else has them...In one of the stars I shall be living. In one of them I shall be laughing. And so it will be as if all the stars were laughing, when you look at the sky at night... You - only you - will have stars that can laugh.”

I remember this happy couple. I met Julie back when we were in high school. I was from SCHS and spent a lot of good times with friends at Holy Cross. Don and his sister Linda were popular at SCHS and it was great to know them in those very special days. My condolences to the family members, friends, and all who loved Julie and Don. I am absolutely positive that they will never be forgotten.

Julie, my wonderful friend who was always supportive and loving with me and my daughters. We went through many sad times but we had such fun times too and so many laughs together. I'll always miss you, my dear friend. You were taken far too early. I find solace knowing that you and Don are together.

We have fond memories through the years of our family gatherings, watching all our children grow and celebrating special events. Julie and Don shared an exceptional, life long love affair. They raised their family with love in an idyllic country setting, teaching them to respect nature and enjoy the wonders of life. Julie had a special bond with Mother Earth. She will be missed! Julie and I shared a very special trip to China that I will never forget. She was a delightful "roommate" on the trip and a great buddy for seeing the sights. She was a wonderfully warm person who I bonded with immediately. I will never forget running back down the great wall with her in the lead so we wouldn't miss the bus. She is at peace with her beloved Don now. My prayers go out to the family who will miss her so much.

I will miss you as I do Don...Friends for a lifetime! Prayers and Love to your family and all our friends !!! Rest in Peace, ours newest Angel couple !!!

Julie came through so much to be here. Her and my Brother Don were soul mates. They raise a beautiful family in the peaceful home that Don built them. I pray the sadness of these past years will never over shadow the life and Love they shared. Julie will be so missed by all who loved her,
But knowing Don and Julie are together again eases my heart.
Love to you all

Because we lived so far away (In Canada) I met my cousin Julie only once, when I was 16 years old, but she left an impression on me that never faded. She was beautiful and kind, she made me laugh and made me feel completely welcome. The day we spent at her and Dons home was probably the highlight of our family's trip to California. That one visit with her has stayed in my heart always, she touched my soul.
