Julio Rinaldi Obituary

Julio R. Rinaldi
February 11, 1940 - February 16, 2021
Resident of Santa Cruz
Julio R. Rinaldi born and raised in Santa Cruz lost his one year battle with Leukemia. He was eighty-one.
Born into an Italian farming family, Julio grew brussels sprouts for more than sixty years. Farming and being outdoors gave him great pleasure and loving his work always made him a happy man. After retiring he started a horse boarding business, Coast Road Stables, that brought him even more pleasure than farming.
Julio is survived by his wife Janice of fifty three years. Their daughter Amy and husband Steve Alden. Two grandchildren Spencer and Angela. He was preceded in death by his son Peter who passed away in 2018, and by his older sister Sally Barilati. He is also survived by his sister Alma Rogers and families of both sisters.
Julio had a good life, a great family, jobs he loved, a great big extended family, happy and fun. He had lots of relatives and life long friends, life couldn't be better for him. He will be sadly missed.
Due to Covid a private family service will be planned in the future.
In Lieu of flowers, do something nice for someone you love, or send a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital (stjude.org)

We were buddies as 9th graders at Branciforte Junior High and did pretty well together in the annual two man basketball tournament there. Julio was a terrific kid who obviously became a very fine man, something that is no surprise to those of us who liked and respected him as a teenager.

Julio was my landlord at the ranch for almost 50 years. He was a karate student in his time. He was a student of Martial Arts and we had that in common. It was a pleasure to have him in my journey. He was respectful, kind and straight up....I appreciated knowing him. I'll miss seeing him, it will be different without him. My condolences to the family. May he rest in peace.

Julio, was always such a kind compassionate man. I only knew him for four years I board my horse at Coast Road stable during that time my daughter was very ill and he would listen to me and had a compassionate ear and understood. After reading his obituary I realized that he was a wonderful family man it sounds like he was a good husband a good father and in God‘s eyes that’s a job well done I’m sure he’s in heaven with his son and his family there. But grief is hard it doesn’t really go away but it changes and you will see him again my prayers are with you❤

I'm so sorry to hear of Julio's passing. I'm at Coast Road Stables...it was always nice to see Julio on his rounds around the ranch, and I will miss our chats. I won't forget his kindness when my sister passed away five years ago. He was a real gentleman from the old school. His presence at Coast will be sorely missed.

My condolences to you and the family. I said hello to Julio last Sunday and am very sad to learn that he has passed away. As my friend at CRS for almost 30 years, I will remember him every day at the ranch. He was honest, caring, sarcastic, and very funny too. Loved driving that tractor too!
