Katherine Matiasevich Obituary

Katherine Sue Matiasevich
July 31, 1944 - May 25, 2022
Santa Cruz
Sue is a 4th generation native of Santa Cruz County. Born in Watsonville on July 31, 1944, she is the daughter of Muriel Eaton and Jack Rau, with stepfather Ray Giacoma. She was a graduate of Watsonville High School, her BA from UC Berkeley inspired her to earn her Masters in Art History. She had taught interior design and art research at the Cleveland Museum of Art, West Valley College, the DeYoung Museum of San Francisco, and public school grades K-12. For 20 years she taught Women's Bible Study Fellow-ship in Watsonville & Santa Cruz.
Traveling to over 60 countries, her photographic images came from Africa, Asia, South America, and the world. Her constant desire was to reveal through beauty, God's signature which displays His grace, character, and truth. She leaves behind her husband of 55 years, Dr. Robert Matiasevich and four children: Dr. Bob Jr., Dr. Brad, Nurse Erin Wheeler, and Pilot Jack. She is a grand-mother to twelve children. Her boundless energy and captivating smile accentuated her unique ability to lovingly communicate with people from all walks of life. We will surely miss her but her tenacious trust and devotion to the Lord is now surely rewarded. Susie, rest in peace in Jesus name!
A graveside service to be held on Friday June 3, 2022 at 11 am at Pajaro Valley Memorial Park. Mehl's Colonial Chapel was entrusted with the arrangements.

Sue was my wonderful, vivacious Bible Study Fellowship teacher. She was a great teacher & speaker, humorous, sincere, and always looked like a million bucks, just beautiful inside & out. My sincere condolences to her family and with gratitude for her very positive affect on my life.

Oh dear, I am so very sad. I have been trying to find Sue for 20 years, and this is such a shock. I loved her so and have so many beautiful memories of our many times and talks together. I am living back in Australia as the family will know.
With her beloved Lord, at last,

My sincere condolences to the family as you say your earthly goodbyes to Sue. Sue was the teaching leader of Bible Study Fellowship in Santa Cruz for many years. I was one of her "pupils". She was an outstanding teacher. She is now enjoying the realities of all she taught. God bless her memory!
