Kathleen Hammons
1951 - 2012
Resident of Sant Cruz
Kathleen passed away unexpectedly at her home in Santa Cruz, California on Sunday, January 1, 2012. She was 60.
Ms. Hammons was a native of New Mexico but moved to Santa Cruz in 1988. She worked as a tax auditor for Santa Cruz County for 10 years and previously worked for Dean Whitter in Albuquerque, New Mexico for many years. She loved to garden, cook and spend time with her cats. She was the treasurer for Shakespeare of Santa Cruz for many years.
Ms. Hammons is survived by her father, Sam (Ellen) Hammons of Capitan, NM; mother, Nancy (Jim) Molina of Aptos; sisters, Jane Hammons of Albany and her sons, Chris and Marek Jones, Diane (David) Butler of Austin, TX and her son, Jack , Libby (Felipe) Molina of Portland, OR and her daughter, Lily; and brother's children, Jay and Andrea Hammons; widow, Roxanne Cagney and their families. She was preceded in death by her brother, Johnny Hammons.
Donations can be made in Ms. Hammons memory to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation at the following address: JDRF 26 Broadway, 14th Floor New York, NY 10004
Per Ms. Hammons request, no funeral services will be held at this time. Mehl's Colonial Chapel was trusted with funeral arrangements.

Such a wonderful lady to die so young. I thought of her often since leaving Santa Cruz and her death came as such a shock. I will have fond memories of her always.

May the good Lord comfort her family and friends.
