Lena Re passed away on May 4, 2013 at Capitola Manor of natural causes. Lena was 94 years old when she passed.
Lena was born on December 26, 1918 to Frank and Felicita Locatelli. Lena was born and raised in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
Lena married Nemo in 1936 and was married until he passed away in 1998. Lena worked for Santa Cruz City Schools in the Food Service industry for 20 years.
Lena spent numerous years volunteering at the California Grey Bears. She also enjoyed crocheting, cooking and spending time in her garden. Lena also enjoyed spending time with her family and her two dogs, Scooter and Samantha. Her great-grandchildren were the joys of her last years of life. She was an avid fan of the cooking channel. She enjoyed her many trips to Switzerland with her husband. Lena and Nemo spent most of the summers at the Lingua Ranch in the Santa Cruz Mountains, along with their grandson, Nemo.
Lena is survived by her daughter Veronica Stagi, daughter-in-law, Earleen Re, grandson's Nemo Re III. (Denise), Frank Stagi, Jr., granddaughter, Jennifer Craig (Chris), great-granddaughter's Brianna Re, Isabella Re, Rachel Craig, Giuliana Stagi, great-grandson's Nicholas Stagi, Marshal Craig and several nieces and nephews. Lena proceeded in death by her son, Nemo Re, Jr., husband, Nemo Re, Sr., two brothers, two sisters and son-in-law, Frank Stagi, Sr.
Per Lena's request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the charity of your choice. We want to thank Capitola Manor for all of their love and care of Lena in the last years of her life.
