Resident of Brookings, Oregon
Brookings resident Richard L. Criswell passed away on March 29, 2018 at the age of 75. He was born February 16, 1943 in Great Falls, Montana, to Richard E. and Nathalie J. (Van Schaick) Criswell.
Richard was a Landscape Gardener for the City of Santa Cruz, California for 30 years. He was married October 14, 1961 in Santa Cruz to Donna D. Reed who survives him. He often worked two jobs to support his family – his wife and 3 sons were very important to him. Richard loved the outdoors and the splendor of God's creation. Fishing was his favorite hobby. He enjoyed fishing in the Chetco River after he and his wife retired to Brookings.
Most of all, Richard was a Christian, a servant of his Heavenly Father. Everything he did was with the love of Christ in his heart, serving as unto Him in all ways.
Richard is survived by his wife, Donna of Brookings; sons: Richard L. Criswell II "Preston" of Portland, Oregon, Randall F. Criswell and his wife Julie of Carrollton, Virginia, and Reed B. Criswell and his wife Stacia of Brookings, and 11 grandchildren; also by brothers William E. Criswell and his wife Stephanie of Freeland, Washington, Thomas G. Criswell and his wife Shirley of Rogue River, OR and sister Shelly McMillan and Cari of Apple Valley, OR. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers Edwin "Pat" Criswell and Jack "Corky" A. McMillan Jr.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Brookings Harbor Christian Church, 777 5th St., Brookings, Oregon.
