Shane Briley Obituary

May 9, 1973 - July 7, 2007

Shane was the most kind, loving, gentle, creative, talented, brilliant, witty and handsome man, husband, kitty daddy, son and friend. He was taken from us tragically and suddenly but passed peacefully with family and friends holding his hand. We can only imagine that God needed a good artist. He will live on forever in our hearts and through his art www.one2d.com.

Shane is survived by his loving and heart-broken wife Vanessa, their handsome fuzzy son Acey Kitty, his mother Gretchen, brother Chance, Aunt Lee, devoted in-laws, the Crookshank Ashby clan and more loving family and friends than he ever could have imagined. Oh"¦and his action figures!

A private burial will be held on Friday, July 13th at Lake View Cemetery, followed by a public memorial service and celebration of Shane's life at 1pm at St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Capital Hill in Seattle. An Irish wake will be held at 7pm on Monday, July 16th at The Twilight Exit on Capital Hill.

In lieu of flowers, help save some kitties. Please send donations to Animal Talk Rescue, 6514 Roosevelt Way NE, Seattle, WA 98115.

Dearest Vanessa and all of my other family:

I miss Shane terribly. We spent fun times together as children and Shane was a shinning star to everyone who knew him and loved him. May the love he brought into our lives be remembered always.

To the family and friends of Shane Briley, I never knew the man you so lovingly memorialized in the paper, but as a fellow Irish (woman) I will be raising a pint (Guinness of course!) in his honor on the 16th, I have also decided to name my newly adopted "homeless" kitten Briley in his memory. May you all draw peace from your memories, and may God bring you all comfort at this time of loss. I can not honestly tell you what motivated me to write you all, but I felt so moved by your words, I just had to say something.
