Sharon Fitzgerald Obituary

The Fitzgerald, Daly, and Field families are deeply saddened to report that Sharon has passed away following a courageous battle with brain cancer.Sharon was born in 1962 to the late John "Jay" and Marilyn Daly in Los Altos and had one sibling, Sue Daly Field. Sharon was a very fun loving and adventurous person who enjoyed skiing, river rafting, mountain climbing, scuba diving and all things surf, and she completed in triathlons, running races, and even the Alcatraz swim. At Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, she reconnected with a fellow childhood swim team member, Tim Fitzgerald, who became the love of her life. They were together 40 years, married since 1991. They settled in the Santa Cruz area and had two amazing sons, John and Mark.Sharon earned her Bachelor's in Ornamental Horticulture from Cal Poly and a Master's in Business Administration from Santa Clara University. She had a successful career in high tech sales working for several companies including Oracle, Cisco, Metaware, and Preferred Strategies.Sharon was a wonderful friend and very social. She will be remembered by her family and many friends for her upbeat personality, pursuit and sharing of fun and adventure, gracious hosting of numerous parties, intelligence, and her great sense of humor.She is survived and will be greatly missed by her husband Tim, sons John and Mark, sister and brother-in-law Sue and Jay Field, extended family and many friends and colleagues.The family thanks her friends and family members whose love and support were integral to the quality of her entire life and appreciates Kaiser's Dr. Donna Molaie for her compassionate care of Sharon with a focus on quality. A celebration of Sharon's life will be held for family and close friends. Those wishing to donate in Sharon's memory may chose the Glioblastoma Foundation or Hospice of Santa Cruz.
