Stephen Taylor Obituary

Stephen Wayne Taylor
Sept. 28, 1941 - April 11, 2015
Santa Cruz, CA
Stephen Wayne Taylor, beloved father passed away on April 11, 2015.
He was born September 28, 1941 in Madera, CA to Anne and Norman Taylor. As a youth he was active in the Boy Scouts Troop 116. As a child he often made the trip from Madera to Santa Cruz to visit his family's summer home on Bay Street. He fell in love with Santa Cruz and made his permanent home here as a young man. Stephen graduated from Madera High School in 1959. He retired from UCSC as a Purchasing Coordinator. Steve enjoyed making wine, spending time at the beach, coaching baseball, antiquing, going to A & A Auction, landscaping his properties, following the S.F. Giants, being active in local politics, and dancing at Severino's. He was a generous and kind man and will be greatly missed.
Stephen is survived by his son Todd, his daughter Tracy, his son-in-law Zane, his son Troy, his nieces, Tricia and Tanya, his cousins, and his beloved cat Rocky. He is preceded in death by his parents, Anne and Norman, and his brother Michael Taylor.
A celebration of Steve's life will be held on Saturday, May 23, at 1PM at the Seacliff Inn Banquet Room next to Severino's, 7500 Old Dominion Court, Aptos, CA 95003. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory can be made to the Boy Scouts of America or the Santa Cruz SPCA.

While we did not get the chance to know Stephan closely, his daughter Tracy is our daughter-in -law and we know that for someone to have a child grow up to be such an incredible, loving person, he had to be one hell of a father. May he rest in peace.

Steve and I meet and began our friendship as freshmen at Madera High in 1955. We always got together at the class reunion dinners and often at the class luncheons. Could not believe it when I heard that Steve had passed and I know that I will miss seeing and emailing him. I will advise Dennis and others of the memorial service. Betty and I extend our condolences' to all his family, he was a great person and I know he will be missed .
