Susan (Ms.Dougan) was my 9th grade English teacher in Brasilia in 1995. I was watching some random YouTube video today and thought "oh, that lady looks like Ms. Dougan, I wonder what she´s up to" and was sad to find out that she passed away just a few weeks ago. I was 14 and having a hard time in 1995, but I loved her class, and I remember that after one particular day, she gave me a hug. She was only in my life for a year, but I´ll always remember that. Rest In Peace, Ms. Dougan.

A great role model...hard but popular classes in Jr. High in Scotts Valley. (Class of `78) She was a teacher who fully engaged with all of us students, inclusive and encouraging. So glad she chose to teach, she really made a difference in our world. Sincere condolences to family and friends.

Incredible memories of Suzie D. We played on the Wardens USVBA team together in the 1970s. We lived on the beach volleyball courts. I was a teaching assistant when she was at Aptos through my UCSC class. Listened to her mom play the piano when we stayed at their house in Glendale during a volleyball tourney. She took me sailing for the first time. I last saw her on the golf course at a small Wardens reunion in So. Cal. sometime in the 1990s. Her enthusiasm for all things was infectious. Simply one of the nicest people I have ever known. Incredibly genuine. Prayers for her close friends and Sally.

My favorite memories of my youth were at your home singing and you playing the uke along with Sally and Mom playing the piano. Those times (and they were frequent) were the best times of my childhood.
I always loved you, Suzie, and will miss your beautiful warm smile and the love you gave to all of those who met you. Rest in peace, my friend.
