Loretta Lara Obituary
May 6, 1937-February 4, 2013
Loretta was born in Guadalupe, California on May 6, 1937 and died peacefully in her home surrounded by family on February 4, 2013 after a long battle with cancer.
She attended Santa Maria High School and soon after moved to the Los Angeles area where she resided for 29 years raising her family and working as an electronic assembler. Loretta held family so dear to her heart and loved spending time with her husband and children. Her favorite thing to do was to play her ukulele and she was a member of the Oasis Ukulele Band here in Orcutt.
Loretta is survived by her husband of 56 years, Nickolas Lara of Santa Maria, Ca, her son Michael Lara of Shell Beach, Ca, her daughter Teresa Lara Ferragamo and husband Robert Ferragamo of Studio City, Ca, daughter Patricia Schonekas and husband Kyle Schonekas of New Orleans, La, granddaughter Emily Abeling and husband Jack Abeling of Studio City, Ca, grandson Joshua Feliciano of Tahoe City, Ca. Brother Antonio Amido of Nipomo, Ca, sister Amparo "Cram" Okamoto of Santa Maria, Ca, sister Florence Wise of Northridge, Ca, brother Benjamin Amido of Edmonds, Wa, and brother Richard Amido of Guadalupe, Ca.
Loretta was preceded in death by her son, Nickolas Lara, Jr. of Studio City, Ca, brother Alfredo Amido of Guadalupe, Ca, and sister Rosita Bolima of Seattle, Wa.
A Rosary will be held on Sunday, February 10 at 7:00 p.m. at Dudley Hoffman Mortuary, 1003 E. Stowell Rd in Santa Maria.
A church service will be held on Monday February 11 at 11am at St Louis de Montfort Catholic Church in Santa Maria followed by a Celebration of Life at The Eagles Club (F.O.E. 1745) 666 S College Drive in Santa Maria.
Hawaiian attire encouraged, our mother loved color, flowers and prints.
In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made to Mission Hope Cancer Center in Santa Maria, Ca.
Arrangements are under the direction of Dudley-Hoffman Mortuary, Crematory and Memory Gardens.

Lo was a beautiful, loving woman with an amazing radiation of happiness that always surrounded her. It was always that lovely smile that greeted you as you approached her. You could see the love between her and Nick anytime they were together, which was always. I will truly miss her beautiful spirit. I am sure she is up above playing her ukulele for all her heavenly patrons. May God bless her and hold her in His arms...till I see you again, my friend...Linda Tovar
