Martin Henry Gonzalez,
November 28, 1970 - June 12, 2021
Martin Henry Gonzalez, 50, of Santa Maria, joined the angels on Saturday, June 12, 2021 surrounded by his loving family at Marian Medical Hospital.
Martin was born November 28, 1970 to Pedro Escobar and Maria Luz Gonzalez. At birth, Martin was born with SOTOS Syndrome and it was presumed by his doctors that he would not live past the age of 14 years. Martins perseverance delivered a remarkable outcome as he managed to combat all of his ailments that came with it. As a child, my mother nurtured him and spoiled him with extra love and care. Martin attended Robert Bruce Elementary, El Camino Jr. High, he graduated from Santa Maria High School, and attended Allan Hancock College. He worked for many employers starting with Santa Maria High Schools student store as a student employee. He also worked for our local newspaper, The Santa Maria Times, then onto work at The Warehouse Entertainment, where he developed a love for music. This by far was his favorite job. He loved people and enjoyed providing excellent customer service to all his customers as they displayed so much endearment for him. He loved engaging in all talks of music as he had developed great knowledge of artists, their backgrounds, and concert information. He loved Blondie, Madonna, The Rolling Stones, U2, Queen, and Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac. Martin was best known for being a die-hard Denver Broncos fan. There was never a day Martin didnt wear his NFL Denver Broncos attire. He also loved his California Angels, his LA Lakers, and his WWF WrestleMania, John Cena. Martin loved to be around his family, he took pride in seeing his nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, playing city league rec and High School sports games. He loved to surprise family by visiting and dropping in, and bringing pizza, sweet treats, gifts, anything to entertain the visit. Martin was generous and never arrived empty handed. Martin had contagious energy and always smiling, he was very outgoing and maintained a vibrant personality with a youthful sense of humor. He loved to tell stories, and always had sports stats memorized, and would enlighten you with sports news information. He was also a movie buff and can recite lines and scenes from movies as if he watched them yesterday. His stories will be missed but never forgotten.
Towards the latter part of his life, Martin dedicated himself to taking care of our mother, as he had always been her baby boy, her favorite, and loving son.
