Scott Allen Obituary

Scott Howard Allen

12/24/61 - 08/30/23

Scott Howard Allen passed away at his home in Santa Maria, California and entered into the presence of the Lord on August 30, 2023.

Scott was born in Blythe, California on December 24, 1961. In 1968, the Allen family left Blythe and moved to Santa Maria, California, which would remain Scott's home for the rest of his life. Scott attended Valley Christian Academy and graduated from Righetti High School in 1980.

Scott was a hardworking and multi-talented man who worked in the oil industry, the produce industry and was the owner of the Allen Company, a long time Santa Maria real estate brokerage company.

Scott married Audrey Colleen Lee, the love of his life, on August 13, 1997, and together they had two children, Dalton and Jade. Undoubtedly the most difficult time in Scott's life was in 2011, when Audrey passed away at only 43 years old. As a single father, Scott loved his children deeply and without question, they were the light of his life.

Scott was a man of many talents who made friends wherever he went. He was witty and a good conversationalist, and had a flair and a style all his own, which was displayed in his passion for motorcycles.

Scott is survived by his children, Dalton Lee Allen and Jade Lauren Allen; his mother, Sidney Allen; his brothers, Paul Allen (Alexandra) and Ryan Allen (Heather); and his nieces and nephews Taylor Allen, Turner Allen, Sean Allen and Kyra Allen. Scott was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Colleen Allen, and his father, Alton Allen.

There will be a graveside service Saturday, September 16, at 10:00 AM at the Santa Maria Cemetery, with a reception to follow at the home of Alexandra and Paul Allen, 2396 Glacier Lane, Santa Maria.

Scott was one of my longest time friends from the time of my relocation to the west coast in 2003. We shared a love of motorcycles and life. We had not seen each other in some time and I wondered why my periodic texts went unanswered. I learned just today of his passing. My heart is heavy as pray fond remembrances for all that knew him.

I played high school basketball with Scott. He was our center at VCA. Scott always played to win. He was very funny and just an awesome guy to be around. He made me laugh so much! He was a great ball player. He had the biggest monster block shot against Cuyama that i ever witnessed in a game. He hit the ball against the backboard so hard it almost went back to mid court! I picked it up and passed it to Bill Honeycutt who scored easily on a non contested lay up. I could tell stories of us at basketball camp. Scott was a genuine, honest and fun man. Our starting 5 now is only 4. There is no replacing him in my heart or memory. It is with tears that I write this. I will never forget him. I can hear his laugh, see his smile . He was an awesome rebounder. He was everybody's friend. I hope someday we can all play again. My love for you will forever be in my heart. Somehow I feel you know this. Good bye my friend.
