Colin Daniel Jones SOUTH GLENS FALLS - Colin Daniel Jones, 21, of South Glens Falls, passed away August 5, 2015 due to injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident, at no fault of his own. Colin was born September 19, 1993 in Glens Falls, the son of David and Margaret (Mulcahy) Jones of South Glens Falls. Colin attended Moreau Elementary School, Oliver Winch Middle School and graduated from South Glens Falls High School, class of 2012. During high school he was involved with track, baseball, and basketball and participated in the SGF Marathon Dance all thru his four years of high school. He graduated from Adirondack Community College with an Associates Degree in 2013 and the Rockefeller College of Public Affairs & Policy University at Albany State University of New York with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science in May of 2015. While at UAlbany he was a member of the University at Albany Men’s Rugby Club and a member of Young Americans for Liberty. Colin spent his final semester as a congressional intern in Washington, DC with Congressman Chris Gibson. Politically he identified himself as a Conservative and possessed strong political convictions. Three years prior, Congressman Gibson nominated Colin with appointment to US Military Academy at West Point. Colin was active in scouting and earned the rank of Eagle Scout in 2009. He especially enjoyed paranormal investigation as a team member of the South Glens Falls Paranormal Society. Colin’s pride, passion and respect for his country inspired him to pay it forward by planning to serve his country with the United States Army; his goal was to enter special operations. Colin was serious and highly motivated in preparing to join the military and looked forward to his daily work outs with his Uncle Jeff. Since high school he was employed by Hannaford Supermarket in South Glens Falls and Blue Lagoon Resort in Lake George. Colin loved country music, enjoyed quoting lines from movies, spending time with the guys at U-Turn Lodge in Speculator and the outdoors, especially shooting sports, hunting and fishing. He is predeceased by his maternal grandparents, David and Bernadette (Casey) Mulcahy. Colin is survived by his parents, David and Margaret Jones, his brother, Matthew and sister, Emily all of South Glens Falls; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Jean Jones of Gansevoort; aunts and uncles: John and Amy Jones, Jeff and Sheryl Jones of Gansevoort; Pamela (Jones) and Bruce Neal of Manheim, PA and Chip and Sue Jones of Jupiter, FL; Chris Mulcahy of Granville, Michael and Cindy Mulcahy of South Glens Falls and Nora (Mulcahy) and Robert Ketcham of Gansevoort; cousins, Ryan (Sara), Rachel and David Mulcahy, Erin and Patrick Mulcahy and Benjamin, Thomas, Griffin and Avery Ketcham, Lindsey (John) Pollack and Dustin Jones, Ashlyn and Rachel Jones, Mark and Melissa Neal and Payton and Danielle Jones and an extensive extended family. Dave and Margaret, My heart and prayers go out to you in this unimaginable loss. I haven't seen Colin since he was 7, but even then I could see he was an amazing young man. He accomplished a lot in a lifetime tragically taken too soon. I hope you can both find comfort and peace in your memories.
My deepest sympathy, and loving memory.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Our son, Khalil, worked with Colin at Hannaford and they also went to South High together. They spent many break times together which Khalil really enjoyed. When Khalil learned of Colin's passing he said "life can be beautiful and life can be cruel." Sending you peace and blessings.
