David Eames Hall GALWAY - David Eames Hall of Sewall’s Point, Florida passed at his country home in Galway, NY on September 16, 2017. His wife of 51 years, Mary Ann, was at his side when his journey ended here on Earth. David was the son of Doris and Lester Hall. He was born in Bangor, Maine on September 4, 1933. David had five sisters, Maybelle, who predeceased him, Priscilla, Sylvia, Glenna and Johanna, all of Maine. He also had four brothers, Earl of Maryland, George of Connecticut, Lester of Pennsylvania, and James of Albany, NY who predeceased him. He had two sons, David of Massachusetts and Colin, who predeceased him, and several nieces and nephews. During the Korean Conflict, he served in the US Air Force where he reached the rank of sergeant. In 1959, he graduated from Central Connecticut State Teachers College where he earned his B.S. in Education and went on the SUNY Albany where he obtained a Master’s Degree in Education and a University Certificate in Educational Administration. He taught sixth grade at Westmere Elementary School in the Guilderland School District and also taught math and science at Giffen School and Philip Livingston School in the Albany City School District. From 1968-1974, he served as the principal of Ballston Spa High School. In 1974, he left education to work on some investment properties in Galway. From 1980-1988, he served as the principal of Corinth High School. After retiring from education in 1988, he and his wife began a construction company called Hall Design Builders. They built several homes in Burnt Hills and Galway. In recent years, David worked on his memoir, “A Road from Ignorance,” which focused on his youth, his time in the military and his years as a teacher and administrator. His book will be released in January 2018. He was devoted to his wife, strove to treat all of his students with respect, equality and fairness and maintained a positive attitude whenever he met a challenge. There will be no calling hours.
