Peter James Zimmer SARATOGA SPRINGS - Peter James Zimmer, age 61 went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 2017 at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on July 17, 1956 in Rochester, NY, the son of the late Warren Zimmer and Roberta Kavanaugh Zimmer. Peter loved horses, especially going to the Saratoga Race Track in August. He loved the outdoors, golfing, fishing and skiing. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and will be remembered for his generous spirit, his quick wit and humorous laugh by all who knew him. Peter is survived by his long-term companion, Mary Ann La Point, son, Warren Zimmer; brother, Paul Zimmer (Debbie); sisters, Maureen Wilson, Kathleen Mason, and Eileen Zimmer. A Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 pm on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Compassionate Funeral Care, 402 Maple Ave., (Rte 9 and/or Marion Ave.) Saratoga Springs, NY 12866, with Father Tuttle officiating. Family and friends may call from 1:30 pm to 3:15 pm prior to the service at the funeral home. Family and Friends are welcome to join the family for further fellowship at the Saratoga-Wilton Elks Lodge 161, 1 Elks Ln, Saratoga Springs, NY 12866 following the service.
