Agnes L. Carter, 87 of Sterling died Sunday October 26, 2025 at her home surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on August 13, 1938 in Saltville, VA the daughter of Dave Roy and Bonnie Lee (Grey) Doane. She married R.D. Carter on June 3, 1955 in Saltville. He died in 1982. Agnes had worked for 36 years at GE in Morrison and was a member of the GEM Club. She loved her flowers and was an excellent cook and enjoyed family time together.
Survivors include her daughter, Lisa; God daughter Courtney Gillette; extended family: Jerry and Brinda Winger, Bridgit Gregory and family and Kim Porter; her sisters: Connie (William) Rimel of Aberdeen, MD and Rosa (David) Sexton of Port Deposit, MD; her brother William "Billy" Doane of Darlington, MD; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her sons: Robert Wayne Cater and Charles Eugene Carter; her brothers: Bobby, Kenneth, Ronnie and Roy Lee; and her sister Janet Cochran.
Visitation will be Thursday October 30, 2025 from 10 – 11 AM at the McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls. The funeral will follow at 11 AM with the Reverend Les Funderberg officiating. Burial will conclude at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to Happy Tails in her memory.
