April Marie Fischer, 40, of Sterling, passed away peacefully Monday, March 14, 2022, surrounded by her family, at OSF St. Anthony Medical Center in Rockford.
April was born on January 24, 1982 in Sterling, the daughter of Richard and Patricia (Hittlet) Celestino. She married Ryan Fischer on June 6, 2009 in Rock Falls. April was employed with CGH Medical Center for the past 10 years, beginning as a Registered Nurse at the hospital, then becoming a Nurse Practitioner at the Prophetstown clinic. She touched many lives through nursing, including the patients she cared for and her coworkers.She was a friend to many, life of the party, and anyone that knew her, loved her. April enjoyed riding bicycles, going to rummage sales, going to the casino,and playing board games. Most of all, April loved her family. She was a wonderful mother, wife, daughter, sister, and aunt, and cherished her time spent with her nieces and nephews.
Survivors include her husband, Ryan; her son, Isaiah Celestino of Las Vegas, NV; her parents, Richard and Patricia Celestino of Sterling;two brothers, Shane (Samantha) Celestino of Sterling and Travis (Abbie) Celestino of Rock Falls; her nieces and nephews, Porfivio, Noviana, Gwendolyn, Zacchaeus, Brayden, Zachary, Lilliana, Delylah, and Kayliene; several aunts,uncles, and many cousins; and her dog, Lola James.
She was preceded in death by her beloved Grammie, maternal grandfather and paternal grandparents.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 20, 2022 from 2:00 to 6:00 P.M. at the McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls and on Monday, March 21, 2022 from 10:00 to 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home, prior to the service. Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. with Pastor Paul Sheley officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery in Sterling.

April touched so many lives with her beautiful smile, kind heart, and willingness to help everyone. We all loved her so much. She and I spent many nights laughing together at slumber parties growing up. She was a fantastic nurse, friend, and coworker. God gave us a special gift by allowing her to be a part of our lives.
